Ormer Capital is a Guernsey-based investment business. We manage a concentrated equity fund investing across developed markets that we believe can compound capital over long periods of time. We invest in exceptional businesses who are run by aligned management, and bought at attractive prices. We then own them for the long-term, or until the thesis changes. The companies we own are rare, resilient, and self-reinforcing. Often founder-led or family controlled, they are the kind of businesses that founders and entrepreneurs want to own.

Our partners invest the product of years of work, saving, and discipline, a responsibility we take incredibly seriously, and that is why alignment is structural at Ormer: we invest side by side with our partners with our own capital.

Ormer is the product of nearly 20 years of investment experience across geographies, sectors, and market cycles. We are trying to own a small number of exceptional businesses for long enough for their underlying economics to matter.

What is Ormering?

Ormering is the Guernsey tradition of patiently seeking out rare shellfish. It requires timing, skill, and local knowledge. You can go out on the tide, enjoy the scenery, and turn over the odd rock, likely coming back empty handed. Better results come from knowing where to look, waiting for the right conditions, and turning over lots of rocks.
